The Grand Opening for The Rise Condominiums’ Presentation Centre at 300 Centre Street is this Tuesday, July 31st and we are so excited to share what we’ve been working so hard on over the past year.
We sat down with StreetSide’s design consultant, Tammie Bennett, to ask her about the exquisite interior selections she made for The Rise Condominiums in Bridgwater, and her take on the latest trends in home decor.
A: As the hub of a home, I put a lot of focus on the kitchen using a transitional Maple shaker-style profile door, and added even more interest by using a matte black painted finish. I took a chance using such an interesting bold colour, and I think it really paid off. The colour is very complementary to the lighting package that was selected from BA Robinson Lighting. Lighting has become such a huge feature in home décor and it’s an easy way to add some impact to your space.
Along with the shaker doors, I have used white quartz in both the kitchen and also on the vanities in both bath areas. I took a textured subway-style tile and had it installed in a herringbone pattern to add some detail. This new pattern helped transform what could be perceived as a plain tile. I think it looks very chic, classy and clean. We have luxury vinyl plank throughout the majority of the space, with a neutral tone twist carpet in the bedrooms. And to tie it all together a simple designer grey wall colour with just a touch of contrast against the white interior doors and contemporary flat profiled baseboards. She’s a beauty!
A: As much of a fan as I am with a white kitchen, I wanted to try something new. Dark wood and paneling is definitely making its way back. When I was selecting the finishes throughout the common areas of The Rise, my focus was on grey, whites, blacks and green tones. Once I decided on those colours, I brought those same tones into our beautiful display suite.
A: An Urban Love Story. Yes a touch sappy, but honestly The Rise Condos is a story full of class, luxury, simplicity, good times, laughter and all while living in the heart of Bridgwater Centre!
2. Gold accents – and guess what? You can mix metals, so you don’t have to discard all of your other metals you may have around your home. I love an ornate gold framed mirror- adds instant interest to any space
3. Shades of Blue – navy, slate blue, grey blue, teal blue, green blue, all the blues! And they won’t make you sad either! Try a plush steel blue toned fabric couch, you will fall in instant love. One of my favorites is the Reynolds sofa chaise from Urban Barn.
4. Wood and Natural elements – as mentioned above we are heading to the dark side which includes darker wood tones, bringing some rustic retro glamour to your home. I get excited when I see that gold framed bar stool with a dark rich wood seat.
5. Tropical prints – this trend is evolving over the last year... less about the carnival bright tones and more about the lush, large scaled and energizing greens prints.
A: It’s about a feeling for me, I take it very personal and want to achieve that special feeling for someone when they walk into a StreetSide project. I try to imagine myself in the space, and have fun with the finishes. The biggest compliment is when I get asked where I have purchased items in the display suites. It means I have achieved that ‘feeling’ for someone and design is all about how you feel when you are in the space. I try my best to create, execute and construct something of practicality AND beauty for you.
